As Managing Partner and co-founder of both Geneva Street Partners and Geneva Street Capital Partners, Lowinger is responsible for the strategic direction of Geneva and its affiliates, including acquisitions, investment decisions, investor relationships, and operating policy.

Prior to and then simultaneous with the formation of Geneva, Lowinger was Managing Director of Hanover Financial, LLC for 19 years, where he identified and oversaw all investments, partner and investor relationships, and asset management. Before Hanover, Lowinger was Executive Vice President – Western Regional Director for Heller Financial, an affiliate of Fuji Bank of Japan (Heller was acquired by G.E. Capital in 2001) that provided bridge debt, mezzanine, and preferred equity capital, as well as joint venture equity.

Lowinger is a Los Angeles area native. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Real Estate Finance from San Diego State University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He serves as a member of the Real Estate Principals Organization of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and the Real Estate Division of National Jewish Fund. Lowinger and his wife of 37 years, Cynthia, have five children and four toddler grandchildren, and divide their time between homes in Los Angeles and Denver, Colorado.

Mark Macedo

As Managing Partner and co-founder of both Geneva Street Partners and Geneva Street Capital Partners, Macedo oversees credit decisions, underwriting, investment policy, asset management, capital relationships, accounting and investor communications.

For 19 years prior to and then simultaneous with the formation of Geneva, Macedo was Managing Director-Chief Investment Officer of Hanover Financial, LLC where he oversaw all investment, underwriting and credit decisions. Macedo is an adjunct professor and chairperson of the Real Estate Advisory Council of Loyola Marymount University, where he teaches real estate development, real estate financial analysis, and real estate negotiation. Prior to Hanover, Macedo was Senior Vice President – Regional Director of Asset Management for the Western United States for Heller Financial, where he oversaw a portfolio of over $1 billion. Prior to Heller Macedo was a real estate consultant with Robert Charles Lesser and Company where he performed strategic, financial, and market analyses for over 100 consulting assignments throughout the United States covering all real estate uses, including commercial office and industrial, large scale single- and multifamily residential, regional and community serving retail, and urban mixed-use projects.

Macedo holds a Bachelor’s of Arts and a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance from Loyola Marymount University. Macedo is an accomplished musician and composer, and oversees the non-profit CitySound, which performs throughout California, and has released a successful CD, Second Chance. Macedo and his wife Shannon are both Los Angeles natives, residing in the Westchester area of Los Angeles with their two children in their early twenties.

Michael Katz

Mr. Michael Katz has been actively providing mortgage banking services for his clients since 1988.  His portfolio of financed transactions includes over $3 billion in funded loans and equity investments that represent the entire spectrum of commercial real estate assets.

Prior to merging his firm, Pacific Capital Partners with Peak in 2010, Mr. Katz was a principal and managing member of Center Financial.  During his tenure at Center Financial, Mr. Katz directed the origination team and was responsible for developing a nationwide origination platform for all types of commercial property, including acquisition and development projects, joint ventures, preferred equity, conventional senior and bridge debt and construction projects.

In addition to Katz’s mortgage banking business, he has been instrumental in site selection, entitlement processing and pre-development consulting for hotel, retail, senior housing and multi-family projects throughout California over the past 20 years. Mr. Katz is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and has been a guest lecturer for the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate Studies.

Stephen Wilhem

As Senior Vice President, Construction/Due Diligence, Wilhem oversees Geneva’s development activities and due diligence for acquisitions and new development.

Wilhem’s broad commercial real estate experience includes multifamily design & construction, mortgage origination, mortgage brokerage, investment sale brokerage, and equity investment in property throughout the United States. Prior to Geneva, Wilhem was Vice President at Redwood Trust, Inc., a publicly traded mortgage REIT, where he helped originate commercial CMBS and on-book mezzanine loans. Additional experience includes Director of Due Diligence and Asset Management at Hanover Financial Company and Project Manager at Spieker Properties (now Equity Office Properties). Wilhem has been involved in the financing, acquisition and disposition of over $1.4 billion in commercial property. Wilhem was also an Associate at Jones Lang Wootton (now JLL) undertaking valuation and consulting assignments totaling over 60 projects and asset management assignments totaling 2.4 million square feet throughout the western United States.

Wilhem holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California. Wilhem is a State of California licensed real estate broker and a State of California licensed general contractor. Wilhem and his wife, Stacey, reside in Palos Verdes with their three children.

Cynthia Miller Lowinger

As a principal of Geneva Street Partners, Cynthia (Ceci) Lowinger is responsible for investor and banking relationships.

Cynthia has been involved with Geneva since its founding, and took on a formal active role in 2020, after leaving a 25-year career in college counseling and social work, most recently as head of college counseling at Denver Jewish Day School for ten years, where she placed students in such schools as CU/Boulder Honors, Cornell, Dartmouth, Emory, Georgetown, Michigan, Penn, Syracuse, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Vassar, and other highly selective institutions throughout the United States.

Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Social Work from San Diego State University and a dual Master’s Degree in Social Work and Public Administration from the University of Southern California. She currently serves on the boards of the Anti-Defamation League/Mountain Region, Denver Jewish Day School, and the Hebrew Educational Alliance. Cynthia and her husband of 37 years, Michael, have five children and four toddler grandchildren, and divide their time between
homes in Los Angeles and Denver, Colorado.

Beatriz Babuch

As Vice President, Babuch is responsible for overseeing construction management, renovations and leasing strategy for all of the company’s properties. Babuch has been with the company since its founding.

Prior to joining to Geneva, Babuch was vice president of Los Angeles based Lincoln Gasoline, where she oversaw its real estate portfolio. Prior to Lincoln she was a senior executive at B3-Brazil Bolsa Balcaos (formerly known as BM&FBOVESPA), the second oldest stock exchange in Brazil. Babuch received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in economic sciences from Faculdade de Economia Alvares Penteado (FAAP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Babuch was born in Madrid, Spain and grew up in Sao Paulo. She is fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French and Italian. Babuch has lived in Los Angeles for the past 25 years, and is the proud mother of a son who is currently a student at Harvard Law School.

Joel Lowinger

As Vice President, Joel is responsible for investor relationships, capital raising and site acquisitions.

In addition to his responsibilities with Geneva, Joel co-founded and runs Digital Stairway, an award-winning, boutique marketing agency that specialize in helping companies grow their online and digital presence. Over the past ten years he has worked with over 100 different businesses on digital marketing campaigns and has a passion and talent for helping businesses grow. Some of the companies Joel has worked with include Coca-Cola, Punch Bowl Social, Juni Learning, and Visio Lending. Prior to running his own business Joel worked as the Director of Paid Media at an Austin, Texas ad agency. In addition to his work in advertising, Joel oversees a portfolio of rental properties in Denver and Los Angeles.

Joel grew up in Denver and won the Colorado State High School Doubles Tennis Championship in 2007 and 2008. Joel holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Advertising and an International Business Foundations Certificate from the University of Texas, Austin. He began his professional career in Austin, and has called Los Angeles his home for the past five years. Joel volunteers for a non- profit, Moishe House, hosting events for young professionals. Joel is part of the Human Fountains comedy trio that has performed on America’s Got Talent, and in television shows Germany, Japan, Italy, and Romania and in live venues across the United States.
